Private Passenger Automobile Physical Damage

Lloyd's capacity for non-standard private passenger autos: high value, antique, classic, show cars, and risks with unusual ownership profiles.

We are primarily looking to write non-standard autos such as those with high values, antiques, and classic vehicles. We can also consider more conventional vehicles that have found their way into the Surplus Lines arena, perhaps due to the age or driving record of the owner.

Underwriting Approach

Coverage is as set out in Lloyd's form NMA 1650. London underwriters are closely interested in who will be driving the auto and generally apply a Driver Endorsement limiting coverage to named individuals. Quotations always require a fully completed proposal form and satisfactory MVRs. An independent appraisal, bill of sale, and/or photographs may also be required.

  • Show or exhibition cars
  • Off-track racing cars
  • Vehicles with restricted mileage (under approximately 2,500 miles) qualify for reduced premiums. A Witnessed Mileage Statement will be required.
