Harman Kemp Limited was founded in 1991 with a clear purpose: to serve as a specialist conduit between North American insurance intermediaries and the Lloyd's of London market. Over three decades later, that purpose remains unchanged, though the scale, scope, and reach of our business has grown considerably.

We are an accredited Lloyd's Broker and Lloyd's Coverholder, authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA Registration Number 308642). Our team of approximately 35 specialists operates from 140 Fenchurch Street in the heart of the City of London, steps from Lloyd's itself.

Our Focus

Our primary speciality is the placement and management of binding authorities. These are delegated underwriting arrangements that allow MGAs and wholesale brokers to bind coverage within pre-agreed parameters. This is where Harman Kemp has earned its reputation, and where we continue to excel.

Our client base is made up of Managing General Agencies and Wholesale Brokers located across more than 30 US states, Canada, and markets including the US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Turks & Caicos, Guam, New Zealand, and Australia.

In addition to binding authorities, our brokerage capabilities span ten lines of business, from Commercial Property and Motor Truck Cargo through to Professional Liability, Fine Art, and Equipment Floaters. We handle business through our own in-house facilities, lineslips, and via open market brokerage at Lloyd's.

In July 2024, Harman Kemp was acquired by Accretive Insurance Solutions, a sister company of AssuredPartners, one of the largest insurance broking groups in the United States. This partnership strengthens our resources and reach while preserving the independence, specialism, and client-centred approach that has defined HK since its founding.
